RICHMOND The boards of Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR) and Veritas School (Veritas) approved a Letter of Intent for Veritas to purchase two buildings and two additional parcels of property on the seminary’s campus at 3400 Brook Road . This purchase will occur on or before June 30, 2013. BTSR will retain ownership of Kraemer Hall, which Veritas intends to purchase on or before June 30, 2020.
Veritas School will move from its present location at 6627 Jahnke Road and intends to open for classes at the new site in the fall of 2013; the Northside campus will become Veritas’ permanent home.
BTSR offices will locate temporarily in Kraemer Hall and seminary classes will be held on the campus of Union Presbyterian Seminary for the fall of 2013. BTSR trustees are in the process of developing a long-term strategic plan; an announcement about the seminary’s new location in the Richmond area is expected in the near future.
Ron Crawford, BTSR’s President, noted, “This is a win-win-win situation: Veritas School gets a great permanent home, the Ginter Park community gets a great private school and BTSR takes a significant step toward a new location and a new business model.”
Keith Nix, Head of School at Veritas, agreed, noting “Veritas School is honored to continue the rich tradition of faith, learning, and service that has so long characterized the students of this campus. We are eager to befriend this historic neighborhood and to become a part of the Northside community.”
