The mission of Veritas Classical Christian School is to provide a "Christ-centered, academically rigorous classical education". In short, we set high academic and moral standards that encourage students to do their best work. Veritas teachers nurture and challenge students to achieve their fullest academic and spiritual potential.
Veritas is intent on assisting each student in the development of his or her abilities. With small class sizes of 16 students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade and 18 in 3rd grade and above, teachers can provide personal attention to each student.
Veritas is distinctive both in its approach to teaching and in content areas. Curriculum materials are selected to engage and enlighten students as they discover the truths of our Christian faith and the world in which we live.
Beginning in Kindergarten, Veritas students receive excellent instruction in Math, Science, English, History and Bible. Students learn to read in Kindergarten and then begin a journey through the best of children's literature into the great books of Western civilization. Latin instruction begins in 3rd grade as a foundation for language, literature, history and thinking. Logic courses in the Middle School develop a student's ability to dialogue and debate effectively. Spoken Word and Rhetoric courses in the Upper School sharpen persuasive communication skills.
Veritas has a strong commitment to the beauty found in music and fine arts. These courses are actively integrated with our classroom curriculum. Lower School students receive one hour of instruction per week and Middle School students receive one hour and thirty minutes of instruction per week.
