The Veritas Conservatory is an co-curricular extension of the Performing Arts Department of Veritas School. Created to enrich students with exceptional personal and group instruction in a variety of creative art forms, the Conservatory will offer an on-campus experience for students to further develop their talents in the areas of instrumental and vocal music, the dramatic arts and dance in a convenient after-school setting.
In addition to weekly lessons and rehearsals throughout the academic year, the Conservatory will program multiple performances to cultivate mature performers and give students unique opportunities to serve as ambassadors of Veritas School. Students will benefit from an experienced faculty of musicians, coaches, and educators who are dedicated to nurturing each child’s God-given talent and delivering the highest standard in arts instruction.
For the 2012-13 academic year, the Conservatory will offer Alpha Group Violin Class, Preludio Strings, Conservatory (LS) Treble Choir, Conservatory (US) Chamber Choir, Upper School Drama “Greek Theater” Workshop, and Worship Dance Class (tentative based on interest). Please check the current list of classes for specific times.
CONSERVATORY MISSION: : To provide Veritas students and eligible members of the Richmond community with exceptional, professionally-guided, Christ-centered artistic training and performance opportunities in the areas of instrumental and vocal music, the dramatic arts, and dance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Conservatory is designed to supplement music instruction offered as part of the core Veritas curriculum. The Upper School Choir classes will continue to be an integral part of the academic schedule.
