Veritas Students Take The National Latin Exam
Veritas Upper Schools students achieved very well on this year’s National Latin Exam, administered in early March. Mrs. Adrienne Timler’s 23 sixth and seventh grade students all took the Introductory level NLE. One student, Daniel Rainer, received a special certificate of merit because he answered every single question correctly! Fourteen of the other students at this level earned ribbons and certificates of Outstanding Achievement, meaning they were correct on 34 or more of the 40 questions on the exam. A strategic task force composed of all Veritas board members, administrative staff, and invited guests, gathered in a corporate board room on Friday night and Saturday morning to begin work on a Strategic Plan for 2007-2013. The sessions were led by Independent School Management’s Dr. Walker Buckalew. Dr. Buckalew calls any “plan” laid for the future based on unrealistic projections, cutting corners, or inadequate costing a “wish list”—not a plan.
