Fourth Grade Teacher
When looking at students who have been at Veritas for several years, I see the benefits that stem from the strong foundation of knowledge and skills found in the classical
teaching approach.
It's wonderful to watch students' minds absorb new facts like a sponge, begin to manipulate those facts and to transition into reasoning the “why” and “how” behind the facts. I am amazed by how the students are able to manipulate material, hypothesize, and
draw analogies between various subjects.
Despite many examples of exceptional learning at Veritas, we recognize that Veritas students are ordinary children. In most cases, they aren't ahead of the academic or intellectual curve. God has created us all with unique talents, learning styles and abilities.
Veritas teachers seek out the personal best in each student, then give him the support and encouragement to go one step higher, praising him for his valiant efforts in whatever he accomplishes in class.
At Veritas, students who love the Lord and demonstrate this love in their actions toward others are truly to be praised.
Nurturing a Christ-centered worldview that exudes this godly attitude is a primary goal of the Veritas curriculum and classroom culture.
The teachers at Veritas seek to lead their students as they develop virtuous
character. Our Christian beliefs permeate all subject areas, and students
are taught to identify ways that God's sovereignty appears in every area
of academic life.
Spiritual discussions are not isolated to our Bible lessons, but rather such
discussions arise through the novels we read, the people and events we
study in history, God's orderliness in mathematics and creativity within
science and art.
I truly believe that the wholehearted investment of the teacher in each
uniquely gifted student sets Veritas apart. The teachers here really do care
about seeing each child perform to his fullest potential, both academically
and behaviorally.
