"Methods such as singing, rhymes, chants, jingles and poetry are used to teach the foundational facts of each subject"
Students of all grade levels, and with varying levels of ability, have transitioned into Veritas. Since our inception in 2000, we have used a family interview and student assessment process for families and students in order to determine if Veritas is the best fit for each child.

Transferring students transitioning well into Veritas have done so due to a number of factors:
  • The parents' commitment to the Veritas mission and philosophy
  • Patience and understanding on the part of parents in supporting the student's adjustment to a new school environment.
  • The students' commitment to respect and obey the teachers and give their best effort on their schoolwork.
When these factors are in place, the student typically adjusts well and is quickly in the rhythm of Veritas.

Prior to being accepted at Veritas, we review past grades and standardized test scores. Students also complete an academic assessment administered by the classroom teacher.

Upon enrollment, Veritas requires students in Grades 5 and above without previous Latin instruction to attend a summer Latin camp. The Latin camp is a summer program and lasts for one week, approximately 4 hours each day. The Latin camp will provide a solid foundation for Latin study at Veritas. The Latin camp has an additional fee beyond the Veritas application fee and annual tuition.

Based on grade and ability level, the Latin teacher may recommend additional home study or tutoring to prepare for Latin class. The Latin teacher is committed to supporting students as they catch up in their Latin study. Veritas will continue to increase resources to provide for a smooth transition into our Latin program.

Veritas teachers love new students and will always provide many additional opportunities for academic help and support for each child. Veritas believes, with proper instruction, support and resources provided, each student will have every opportunity to do well at Veritas. Teachers also commit to pray regularly for every child in their classroom.

In addition to the school's faculty and leadership, the parent community provides a strong support system for parents and students new to Veritas. A Parent Ambassador's program is specifically geared to welcoming new families and transferring students to Veritas.
