Veritas is a special school community. Parents play a central role by partnering with leaders and teachers to create a caring and cohesive environment where children can achieve their fullest potential both academically and spiritually. Each parent's time and talents are essential components in fulfilling the mission of Veritas Classical Christian School.

Distinctives of the parent community at Veritas
  • Parents are active partners in the education of their children and form a strong, supportive community for both students and teachers.
  • Parents actively serve the school by assisting with daily school activities. Parents play a role in serving the school through prayer, classroom and office support, field trips, lunch program, special events, a book club and a variety of other activities.
  • Parents are active participants in school leadership and often initiate ideas which enhance school life. For example, last year parents developed a costume guild, new student-parent fellowship events, a uniform closet and the first annual Grandparent's Day luncheon.

The Veritas Parent Association (VPA)
All Veritas parents are members of the Veritas Parent Association, headed by a president and a leadership committee. The Association's purpose is that of service to the school community. Key activities include: coordination of room mothers, hospitality and school community, coordination of school lunches, prayer ministry, teacher appreciation, a uniform closet and the planning and execution of school-wide special events.

Parent Prayer Ministry
The parent prayer ministry is vital to accomplishing the school's mission. Each week parents gather to pray for students, faculty, and school leadership as well as other needs of the Veritas community. In addition, a list of prayer needs is e-mailed to parents weekly.

Parent Involvement
Volunteering is an important aspect of Veritas. Parents help implement the daily activities of a thriving school, and create a wonderful spirit of community. Veritas is always open to initiatives suggested by parents. One such initiative is the school uniform store. The store sells used uniforms throughout the year with proceeds used to benefit the school.
