The vision of establishing a classical Christian school in Richmond began in 1998 with Dean and Robin Luckenbaugh, parents committed to providing a Christ-centered education with strong academics for their children, Rachel and Joshua.
A board of directors was established in 1999 and in the fall of 2000 Veritas Classical Christian School opened its doors to 25 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade at Crestwood Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia. Stony Point Presbyterian Church was added as an Upper School campus in 2003 to accommodate growth in enrollment.
Today, Veritas serves 217 students in Grades K-11. Mr. Charles T. Evans, author of "Wisdom and Eloquence", serves as the Interim Head of School. Mr. Rick Trumbo serves as Principal of the Upper Schools with Mr. Young as Grammar School Principal. Mr. James Daniels, a leading expert in the classical method of education, serves as the Interim Academic Dean.
In the 2010-2011 school year, Veritas will offer a complete K-12 program with our first graduating class in 2011!
