Mrs. Katie Gilman

Mrs. Katie Gilman earned her BA in English and Early Childhood Education from James Madison University.  Prior to raising her family, Katie taught 1st grade in Hanover County Public Schools.  For the past two years, Katie has worked as a substitute teacher in the elementary schools of Hanover County and has most recently served as a long-term substitute in 3rd grade at Veritas. Katie has also been actively involved in children’s and youth ministries for over twenty years in her local church, and she is passionate about connecting with students and encouraging them to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and virtue.  Katie and her husband, Tom, joined the Veritas community in 2008 and have two daughters who have attended the school⁠—Berkeley (’21) and Reagan (’22). They have experienced first-hand the blessing of Veritas, and Katie is thrilled to invest her time and her teaching experience at Veritas for this next season.
