Support Veritas

Federal Tax Credit

What would you do if you learned that you could steward your resources by redirecting your tax dollars from the federal government to scholarships for Veritas students?

This very opportunity is likely before us in 2027!

Beginning tax year 2027, the federal government has instituted a new code that allows taxpayers to receive a tax credit for donations to eligible schools.

This new code is scheduled to take effect in 2027 and allows individuals to give up to $1,700 and married, filing-jointly couples to give $3,400 to schools for the sake of scholarship dollars to qualifying families. This will be administered through a third party Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) with whom Veritas will partner.

What does this mean?

It means that Veritas families, friends, and extended family who live anywhere in the country can make donations to Veritas for student scholarships at no cost to them.

Since it is a tax credit (not a deduction), this opportunity allows us to redirect where we give our taxes. In short, married-filing-jointly families can redirect 3,400 in federal tax dollars in 2027 from the federal government to Veritas!

This is a game-changing opportunity for our community.

What can you do now?

  • Please pray. Each state has the opportunity to opt into the federal program.  As of now, Virginia has opted in; please pray that our governor will not opt back out.
  • Come to Veritas U on Thursday, Nov. 19 for a short presentation and Q&A.
  • Do NOT act now. This is not yet active. There is nothing to do with this until 2027.
If you have questions in the meantime, please contact David Nees.
