Mrs. Dori Stergar

Educational Therapist
Mrs. Stergar holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Liberty University, and a BA from the University of Richmond in Economics and Spanish. Heavily influenced by the writings of classical educators Charlotte Mason and Susan Schaeffer Macaulay, she homeschooled her children from 1994 – 2009. She writes: “What began as an experiment became a way of life as we lived and learned together … an education established in a loving, supportive environment serves as an extension of God’s work of redemption in the life of each student, bridging the gap between his brokenness and his God-given potential.” As her children grew and entered traditional school settings, Mrs. Stergar brought her passion for education into the classroom, first at Westminster Academy, and then for nine years at Elijah House Academy. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Stergar coaches swimming and enjoys the fine arts, photography, and reading.
