Mr. Tyson Lee earned a football scholarship to Itawamba Community College, where he became the first player in Itawamba’s history to earn pre-season all-American and academic all-American in the same year. He transferred to Mississippi State University (MSU) and walked on to the football team before earning a scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Education and also received his Masters in Sport Administration from MSU. Before coming to Veritas, Tyson was the Lower School Principal at Evangelical Christian School in Memphis, TN. He is an avid lover of books, and James KA Smith’s work has provided a delightful and formative paradigm for understanding education as formation. In particular, he believes that seeing children as image-bearers allows us to view them holistically and to create a school environment shaped by the desire for students to flourish by upholding the true, the good, and the beautiful. Tyson is married to Christa and they have four kids. He enjoys great food, Broadway, and exploring Richmond with his family.
