Mr. Nathan Brewer

Latin Teacher
Mr. Nathan Brewer (Class of 2015) was first introduced to the classics under Ms. Enghauser [Parrish], Ms. Fell [Rhodes], and Mr. Trumbo, and he returns to Veritas having completed a rigorous BA program as a Bonner Scholar at Washington and Lee in Classics, Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Mr. Brewer’s studies allowed him to spend significant time in Italy on the Ancient Graffiti Project, an archeological enterprise to digitize the Latin and Greek scrawls on the walls of the Vesuvian cities and to the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. Nathan writes: “I have known I wanted to be a teacher ever since having Mr. Trumbo in high school; teaching was an opportunity to continue learning and I could see how much my teachers enjoyed pouring themselves into us for our intellectual and spiritual growth.” His interests beyond the classroom are wide-ranging, including poetry, distance running, Christian theology, Protestant-Catholic relations, John Donne, choral music, guitar, letter-writing, spiders, hiking, tea, and Russian literature.
